Scope of Application
Pursuant to Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution, the federal data protection provisions (Data Protection Act, revDSG), and the EU GDPR, every person has the right to privacy and to protection against the misuse of their personal data.
The operators of this website take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection laws and this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform users of this website about the nature, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by CHI Classics Basel Ltd.
In general, this website can be used without providing any personal data. If personal data is provided, we process it in accordance with the new Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We expressly draw your attention to the fact that data transmission over the Internet may generally be subject to security vulnerabilities. It is not possible to provide complete protection against unauthorized access.
What personal data do we collect?
We process personal data (data that directly or indirectly identifies natural persons) that we have received from you or relevant third parties in the course of our business relationship, or that we collect ourselves. This includes, in particular, your name, address, email address, phone numbers (landline and/or cell phone), and—if necessary—your account information and VAT details.
Personal data also includes information about your use of our website. In this context, we collect information about your visits to our website. This is typically done through the use of log files and cookies. You can find more information about log files and cookies below.
For what purpose do we collect personal data?
We use your personal data solely to provide the services you have requested.
How long is personal data retained?
We process and store your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations or to achieve the other purposes of the processing, and beyond that in accordance with statutory retention and documentation requirements.
To whom do we disclose personal data?
We do not disclose your personal data to third parties unless you have consented to such disclosure or we are authorized or required to do so under applicable laws and/or official or court orders. This may include, in particular, the disclosure of information for the purposes of criminal prosecution, to prevent danger, or to enforce intellectual property rights.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive, free of charge, information about the source, recipients, and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the correction, restriction, or deletion of this data. For this and any other questions regarding data protection, you may contact us at any time at the address listed above. Furthermore, you have the right to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
Right to object to data collection in specific cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data processing is based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) of the GDPR, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The specific legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this Privacy Policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data in question unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims (objection under Article 21(1) of the GDPR).
If your personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for such marketing purposes; this also applies to profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will no longer be used for direct marketing purposes (objection pursuant to Article 21(2) of the GDPR).
Right to File a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority
In the event of violations of the revDSG or the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work, or the location of the alleged violation. This right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically—based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract—provided to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request that the data be transferred directly to another data controller, this will be done only to the extent that it is technically feasible.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential information—such as orders or inquiries you send to us as the website operator—this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar.
If SSL or TLS encryption is enabled, the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.
Inquiries by Email and Phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we will store and process your inquiry, including all personal data contained therein (name, inquiry), for the purpose of handling your request. We will not disclose this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, provided that your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in effectively processing the inquiries directed to us.
The data you send us via contact requests will remain with us until you request that we delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions—in particular statutory retention periods—remain unaffected.
Cookies
Some of the web pages on this site use so-called cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies.” They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser the next time you visit.
You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are set and to allow cookies only on a case-by-case basis, to block cookies in certain cases or generally, and to enable the automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
We use the “Real Cookie Banner” consent tool to manage the cookies and similar technologies (tracking pixels, web beacons, etc.) we use, as well as the related consents. For details on how “Real Cookie Banner” works, please visit https://devowl.io/de/rcb/datenverarbeitung.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data in this context is Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR and Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the management of the cookies and similar technologies used, as well as the related consents.
Providing personal data is neither required by contract nor necessary for entering into a contract. You are not obligated to provide personal data. If you do not provide personal data, we will not be able to manage your consents.
Newsletter
If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we need your email address as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you consent to receiving the newsletter. No other data is collected, or is collected only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively to send you the requested information and do not share it with third parties.
The processing of the data entered in the newsletter sign-up form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke your consent to the storage of your data and email address, as well as their use for sending the newsletter, at any time—for example, by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of any data processing that has already taken place remains unaffected by this revocation.
We will store the data you have provided to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter until you unsubscribe, at which point it will be deleted. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

If you have an account with one of these networks and are logged in at the time you activate the social plug-in, the network may associate your visit to our website with your account. If you wish to prevent this, please log out of the respective network before activating the social plug-in.
